Founded by Dan Allen and Ed Ross, two tradies from completely different backgrounds who bonded over hard work and plenty of laughs, TradeMutt was born out of tragedy and transformed into purpose. After Dan lost one of his best mates to suicide in 2015, he and Ed set out to tackle the silence surrounding mental health in the blue-collar community.
TradeMutt creates bold, vibrant, and unmistakably loud workwear designed to spark conversations about mental health – conversations that, in the past, many Aussie blokes have struggled to start. Their shirts act as a catalyst, breaking down stigma and encouraging mates to check in on one another.
But TradeMutt is more than a clothing brand. It’s a social enterprise dedicated to reducing the rate of suicide in Australia by making mental health impossible to ignore. Every shirt carries meaning, including a tribute to Dan’s late mate with the letters YNWA (“You’ll Never Walk Alone”), reminding every wearer that no one has to face life’s challenges alone.
